in 1989 wrote 'the beautiful ones are not yet born' in the face of monumental
corruption and widespread maladministration. The Takoradi born writer was
critical of government's irresponsible disposition towards socio-economic
development in Ghana in particular and Africa in general. Without doubt, Ghana
over a decade has continued to wax strong as leadership focus on development.
In the wake of Muhammad Buhari's election in March 2015, his nature of policy
formulation and implementation is gradually taking Nigeria to a new part.
Nigerians have become optimistic and expectant of 'change' the slogan Buhari rode on to his ultimate victory in the polls. Buhari has showed determination to stamp out terrorism and ensure dividends of democracy gets to ordinary Nigerians. It is important to note that Buhari's obvious sluggishness to decide on who to chose as ministers is an attempt to avoid corruptible and corrupt individuals in his cabinet. He is known for discipline and uprightness, what Japanese calls 'Ojisan'. Buhari's dream for Nigeria is evident in his 100days in office. There has been significant changes in the power sector, a sector that had gulped billions of dollars in 16years PDP rule with absolutely nothing to show for it.
The level of seriousness Buhari has shown towards retrieving all siphoned wealth and prosecution of those found guilty interest many Nigerians. As Indictment begins, people aspire to see it to fruitful end so as to set a textbook example which will serve as a lesson to current public office holder. The EFCC, ICPC, DSS and other relevant agencies are working tirelessly to prosecute corrupt officers, an omen good for a new Nigeria free from corruption and maladministration.
Nigeria Foreign policy has also taken a new turn, the country has moved from been a pariah to resuming her highly placed position international forum. As the President renew Nigeria relations with the world power, the country's economy will turn a new leaf. And an effort to recover all ill-gotten would not hit a brick wall. The boko Haram insurgency is beginning to experience its finale, with series of progress recorded by the Nigeria Army, it look absolutely clear Boko haram days are numbered. One can be sure from Buhari's body language that there is a new sheriff in town, with the license to kill. Buhari is a beautiful one indeed. We prefer him to 'go slow' as he was accused of from some quarters and take us to Canaan than to rush and push us off the cliff.

Nigeria shall be GREAT again, it's heart-broken to see Nigeria is this state after how many years of independence. I cannot wait for the change to actually materialised to its full capacity....sai Nigeria
