5 KEY TAKEAWAYS FROM THE WEEK 8 EPL MATCHES

AGUERO JOINED THE ELITE LIST OF PLAYERS WHO HAVE SCORED 5 GOALS IN THE EPL

When his teams was trailing by a goal and in need of a spark, Sergio Aguero provided it in style. It took him just 20 minutes to put his name in the list of players to have scored 5 goals in the EPL and setting the record for the fastest 5 goals in the league.

Minutes Needed to Score 5 Goals:

20 - Aguero (2015)
36 - Defoe (2009)
54 - Shearer (1999)
68 - Berbatov (2010)
68 - A Cole (1995)

Harry Kane Scored a Sensational Goal

Harry kane scored a sensational goal in the match against Swansea, unfortunately, it was an own-goal. The goal put Swansea ahead  of Tottenham in the match that ended in a 2-2 draw. Kane will be disappointed to realise that he had all the time he needed to properly put the ball out of play.

The Tottenham youngster was one of the EPL sharp shooters last season, scoring 21 goals in 34 matches. However, he has only managed to score1 goal in 8 matches this season.

Manchester United's brief flirtation at the top of the EPL table was brought to an abrupt end as Arsenal run over them like a rampaging river.

It was a bad day in the office all round for Man U, the players looked tired, while Luis Vaan Gaal didn’t get his tactics right. Starting two of his oldest players: Michel Carrick and Schweinsteiger in the midfield against a rampant arsenal team proved to be a wrong call.

Arsene Wenger prepared his team well enough for the match. Arsenal had a bright start, they were well organized, sharper and fitter. The key players stepped up their games; Ozil with an assist and a goal, Alexis Sanchez with two great goals and Theo Walcott with 2 assists helped Arsenal secured all 3pts.

Chelsea Annihilated and Jose Mourinho was denied the chance of winning 200th matches in charge of Chelsea.

Chelsea was defeated at home by an inspired Southampton side in the week 8 EPL match (1-3), the panic is growing at the Stamford Bridge and the alarms bells are ringing. Chelsea are one point away from becoming the team with the worst results for a defending champion. A record Blackburn Rovers hold since 1994.

Mourinho will have to wait for the next matchday to to get his 200th win in charge of Chelsea.

Brenden Rodgers sacked

When Liverpool signed Rodgers from Swansea in 2012, they believed he was the right man to bring them back to the top of the EPL.

Rodgers replaced Kenny Dalglish, whose Liverpool team finished eight the log. Rodgers was given everything he needed to succeed; a chance to manage a top club and enough money for transfers.

Rodgers bought 31 players for £291,550,000.

ARSENAL FINALLY PLAYING WITHOUT FEAR

Arsenal is the only EPL team that has finished each of the last six seasons in the top four positions. Other teams like, Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool have had spell outside the top four.

Although, Arsenal have not been able to win the league title in the last 9yrs, mostly because they have been incapable of taking points off the majour contenders.

However, the story is changing quickly, arsenal is no longer the team to be bullied. Arsene Wenger’s men have at least taken a point off their majour rivals in most of their EPL matches, since the start of 2015.
