The Nigerian Senate has suspended its plenary till Thursday, this was announced by the Acting Clerk to the Senate, Mr. Nelson Oyewoh, on Tuesday.
In his one paragraph statement titled ‘Resumption of Plenary’, Oyewoh announced, “This is to inform all
Distinguished Senators of the Federal Republic of Nigeria that the
resumption of the Senate in plenary has been rescheduled from Wednesday,
October 21, 2015, to Thursday, October 22, 2015.
“All Distinguished Senators are by this notice requested to resume
sitting in plenary on Thursday, October 22, 2015 by 10am prompt,
please.”
No reason was given for the Thursday resumption of plenary but it may not be unconnected with the Code of Conduct Tribunal case involving Senate President, Bukola Saraki, which comes up on Wednesday.
