| Hat-trick hero, Alexis sanchez. www.thenational.ae |
Sanchez ended his 873 minutes goal drought with a
hat-trick in the game against Leicester City on Saturday afternoon.
His three-goal haul did not only earn him a place in
the history book of European League competition, he also became the 8th South-American to score a hat
trick in the Premier League.
Wayne
Rooney, Daniel Sturridge and Harry Kane Scored For Their Teams To Kick Start Their Seasons After Firing Blanks And Recovery From Injury
England
manager, Roy Hodgson will be particularly pleased to have seen his boys get
back to scoring forms.
Rooney’s goal against Sunderland (171
league goals for United) ended his 1000 minutes without goal in the League.
Sturridge also scored his first goal of the campaign, while Harry Kane
scored a goal that
will silence his 'one-season wonder' critics, at
least for now.
Many consider him Man U’s best
signing this season. A naturally good shot stopper. He Gives Man U security at the back and he is the only EPL goal keep to record a clean sheet in the EPL in week 7.
Jamie Verdy
and Riyad Mahrez Lead the Way
Despite the loss to Arsenal, the
Leicester duo continue to be the best attacking partnership in the EPL.
Verdy’s double against Arsenal makes
him the top scorer in the EPL after 7 matches with six strikes, while Mahrez is joint-second with five goals.
Mahrez has been involved in more
goals than any other player in the EPL (5 goals, 3 assists).
Game
Changer: Ramires Saved Chelsea from Defeat
Jose Mourinho has won in every
Premier league stadium apart from the Emirate and St. Jame’s park.
Jose Mourinho was at the brink of his 4th loss in 7 EPL games on Saturday before the introduction of Ramires and Williams, who inspired a Chelsea comeback after going behind, to even a two goal deficit at St. James Park.
Chelsea have conceded 14 goals this
season, 1 more than they conceded in the whole of 2004/05 season.
Luis Van Vaal’s Manchester united have
shown a lot of improvement since the beginning of the 2015/16 campaign.
The win over Sunderland on Saturday afternoon did not only shoot them to the EPL summit, but also put an end
to Van Gaal’s 9yrs win-less streak against teams managed by Advocaat in all competition
