Katherine Gaydos, who lives in Florida had her eyes glued shut after a friend mistook a tube of super glue for a bottle of eye drops.
Katherine told WPBF-TV that the ordeal unfolded after she got a piece of debris in her eye while using a leaf-blower.
“Something blew into my eye,” she told the local station.
“I screamed for someone else to get eye drops out of my purse, and they brought super glue and poured it in my eye...As soon as I felt it in my eye I felt it burn and I closed my eye and screamed ‘call 911.’"
The single mother of two was being treated by a doctor but couldn't continue payment, because she’s unemployed without insurance.
"He was talking about doing surgery to try and save my eye,” she said.
“But now I don't know what to do-I don't have a job, no insurance or any money.”
