Police officers are supposed to enforce the law not break it. But you will be surprised at the rate at which police officers show flagrant disregard for the same laws they are meant to uphold. E.g.:
- Constantly violating traffic laws,
- blaring siren, thereby causing noise pollution
- Driving on people's bumper...
7. They Profile You Based On Your look
Appearance does not give you
the true nature of a person, our policemen seem to believe they are mind readers. To think they can know everything about someone just by looking at them.
8. They Are Great Gossips
If you think gossiping starts and ends with the 'Lekki wives' then you need to have a rethink.
9. Bribery Is Legal when A Police Officer Is At The Receiving End
Most Nigerian Police officers believe that receiving bribes is their right. Some of them go as far as killing (the same people they are paid to protect) over bribes of as low as N20.
10. Some of Them Are Legal Criminals
The primary duty of the police is to safeguard the lives and property of citizens against any form of threat or violation. But we have had a lot of situations where police officers had killed innocent citizens for petty reasons.
Sometimes the citizens are not sure who to fear the most, the police or the armed robbers since they share a common characteristic - killing innocent citizen.
